There are two self checkouts, located on the third and fourth floor of the Nanaimo campus library.

The third floor self checkout can be found directly across from the service desk, attached to a pillar.

The fourth floor self checkout can be found beside the west elevator.

To use the self checkout, left click on the box below the 'scan your library barcode' text. Either scan your VIU ID, or enter your library barcode (student, employee, or community borrower number). You are now logged in.

Scan the barcodes of each item you wish to check out from the library. As soon as the item is scanned, it is checked out to you, and the due date will be displayed. Once you have finished scanning the items you wish to check out, click 'logout' to complete the transaction, and an email receipt will be sent to your email address.
